Community Projects

INVOLVEMENT – ONE SLICE AT A TIME

Pizza on the Run has been involved in community giving since its early days of making pizza. Connecting with the citizens of Cody, Lovell and Powell, Wyoming has been a focus of Harold’s from organizing the first Halloween’s Main Street party in Cody, Wyoming. Today Pizza on the Run has given back to the community many times over by supporting such groups as the CAN club (Change Attitudes Now), the Riley Arena, the Yellowstone Quake, Local High School Athletics, and the Park County Youth Hockey Association.

We believe in supporting local causes that are important to us and we are happy to support youth activities such as CAN and hockey!

THE PIZZA ON THE RUN STORY

Pizza On The Run was established in May of 1984 in Cody, Wyoming by Harold Kaiser, Jr. and Tim Deroche ~ Half brothers eight years apart.  Harold was finishing a Business degree at Black Hills State University while Tim was working construction with some background pizza experience.  Rent in Cody was steep so operating out of their parent’s trailer house, just out of the Cody city limits would have to do.  The original shop in the trailer house had just enough space for pizza production and a two foot by three foot space for the customer to stand at the cash register and get their delicious pizza.

The original plan was to be a two man operation, Tim to cook and Harold to deliver.  Employees were not expected and a large family willing to help was their safety net.  Happy pizza making began with helpful volunteers and the second night of business those volunteers were crowned employees as the demand would prove to be overwhelming.  Lack of funds for a commercial dough roller made strong backs and a large rolling pin the obvious option.  Therefore, Hawaiian shirts were the uniform choice as there was no air conditioning and they were wielding a huge rolling pin. Today we still say we are a different pizza company as we stand out with our relaxing, fun customer service philosophy in Wyoming.

Willingness to work hard with solid Golden Rule ethics and a “Do what is right, because it is right” attitude would prove to be the recipe for years of success.  The American Dream of independence kept the drive rolling.  Within seven months a downtown location was ready which would increase sales.  The next year, 1985 would bring the realization of expanding and in 1986 Pizza On The Run was in Powell as well as Worland, Wyoming.  1987 and 1988 would bring Pizza On The Run to Lovell and then to Greybull, Wyoming.

Currently Harold owns and operates Pizza On The Run, Inc. in Powell.  Menu items like the Unmatched Monster Pizza and the Best Taco Pizza Ever, along with Personal, Smiling Customer Service keeps the business on your mind today.  Positive Attitude Management and great Team Members make Pizza On The Run a daily success.
